  • 1944 :

    Gérard Fraikin sets up the company with its first vehicle
  • 1967 :

    The network is gradually expanded to the provinces. The company moves towards self-drive rental.
  • 1978 :

    Founding of Fraikin Limited in the UK and Fraikin Belgium
  • 1985 :

    Founding of Fraikin Locatime
  • 1992 :

    Fraikin Belgium opens a branch
  • 1995 :

    Fraikin is floated
  • 1996 :

    Acquisition of Locacamion and its subsidiaries, including LEV.
    The Group doubles in size to become one of Europe's leaders in the rental of industrial and commercial vehicles.
  • 1997 :

    Founding of the subsidiary Fraikin Alquiler de Vehiculos, in Spain
  • 1999 :

    The Fiat Group acquires the Fraikin Group
  • 2003 :

    Eurazeo acquires the Fraikin Group
    Founding of Fraikin Hydrolic
  • 2004 :

    The acquisition of Fraikin is refinanced through securitisation for ?600 million: France's first whole business securitisation
  • 2005 :

    Acquires the assets of Lex Transfleet, a subsidiary of the RAC (Royal Automobile Club)
  • 2006 :

    Acquires Locafroid, France's second-biggest semi-trailer hire firm. Founding of Fraikin Swiss Truck Renting (Switzerland) and Fraikin Polska (Poland)
